Construction of the stadium fields in Qatar is well under way. The BLEC Laser Grader 2400, produced by Redexim, is being used at several stadiums, such as Al Wakrah stadium (pictured), to grade the fields.
Conditions are very demanding, and after clearing the rocks and levelling the stones a formation layer of 20 cms was created, with a drainage system installed on top.
This is followed by layers of gravel, and sand/soil for respectively a lower and upper rootzone, before the turf can be brought on.
The BLEC Laser Grader 2400 is being used for the accurate levelling of each layer, and each pair of its wheels is controlled independently for dual grading.
